Upgrade to Trekker

The Trekker tier gives you offline maps, fitness tracking, GPX tools, and more — everything designed for trampers who regularly head into areas without cell coverage. Here is how to subscribe, manage your plan, and cancel if you need to.

How to Subscribe

  1. Go to Settings > Billing in the app or on the web
  2. Choose your plan:
    • Monthly — NZ$3.99/month, billed monthly, cancel anytime
    • Annual — NZ$29/year, billed annually (save ~39%)
  3. Enter payment details — we use Stripe for secure payment processing. Your card details are never stored on our servers.
  4. Done — Trekker features activate immediately. No restart needed.

What is Included

Your Trekker subscription unlocks:

  • Offline map tile packs — download regions for off-grid use
  • Custom routes — draw your own or import GPX files
  • GPX import & export — move routes between Tiki Tours and other apps
  • Garmin & Strava sync — heart-rate analysis and fitness trends
  • Push notifications — trail condition alerts on saved routes
  • PDF & iCal export — printable trip summaries and calendar integration

All features are available on both the web app and the mobile app.

Managing Your Subscription

From Settings > Billing you can:

  • View your current plan — monthly or annual, next billing date
  • Switch plans — move between monthly and annual at any time. If you switch from monthly to annual, the remaining monthly period is prorated.
  • Update payment method — change your card or payment details
  • View invoice history — download past invoices for your records

Cancelling

You can cancel your Trekker subscription at any time from Settings > Billing > Cancel Subscription. When you cancel:

  • Access continues until the end of your current billing period — you have already paid for that time
  • After the period ends, your account reverts to Explorer. Your trips, saved trails, and data remain — you just lose access to Trekker-only features.
  • Offline tile packs are removed from your device after the subscription ends
  • Fitness data from Garmin/Strava syncs is retained in your account but the sync stops

You can resubscribe at any time to restore Trekker access.

The 1% Pledge

1% of all Trekker subscription revenue is donated to Forest & Bird. This commitment is permanent and visible on your billing page. Thank you for supporting conservation in Aotearoa.
