Oturere Hut closed till mid December
Oturere Hut is currently closed while a new hut is being built. There is no accommodation between Mangatepopo Hut and Waihohonu Hut. This section of the Tongariro Northern Circuit should only be completed by those fit enough to walk 20 km, in one day, over difficult terrain. The new Oturere Hut and campsite are due to reopen on 18 December 2026. If you have a booking between 22 October and 17 December 2026, you will be contacted directly with options for a refund or rebooking.
