A nighttime deer control operation will take place on Ōtamahua/Quail Island from 5–7 August 2026. Night shooting will occur after sunset on the evenings of Wednesday 5 and Thursday 6 August. For your safety, avoid the island between sunset and sunrise on these two nights. The island remains open for day visitors, and you are welcome to visit during normal daylight hours.
