Predator control operation for part of the Te Kahui Kaupeka Conservation Park
A contractor from ECAN plans to distribute toxic bait pellets containing 1080 by helicopter on 11 May 2026, depending on the weather. The operation area is within the Mt Gerald Conservation Area and Te Kahui Kaupeka Conservation Park, northwest of Round Hill Ski field. Te Kahui Kaupeka Conservation Park will remain open. You are advised not to walk tracks on the day of the operation. Refer to the Pesticide Summary for further details. Once the bait has been distributed, it's not safe to hunt for food or have your dog in this area for up to 8 months. Warning signs and this web alert will be removed once the area is safe again.
