Wilding pine control in Kaweka Forest Park

A wilding pine control operation is happening in the Makino, Kaweka Flats, Mangaturutu, Gentle Annie/Jacks, Kaikomata and Flats blocks within the Kaweka Forest Park from December 2025 to May 2026 (inclusive). The areas will remain open to the public. Helicopters will be flying low during this work. The operation is using the herbicide Triclopyr in the blocks on the map (highlighted in orange crosshatching).
