Hooker Valley Track is partially closed
Hooker Valley Track is partially closed, as the second bridge over Hooker River is being replaced. This bridge is part of the route to Copland Shelter from the Hooker Valley side. There is no reasonable alternative access route from Hooker Valley to Copland Shelter. Hooker River is deep, swift and very cold, it is not safe to cross without a bridge. Do not try to walk the closed section of Hooker Valley Track as it is an active construction zone.
